Get The First Homeowners Grant

When the Australian Government imposed a Goods and Services Tax in 2000 it recognised that first homeowners in particular would be disadvantaged by the tax. To help offset this disadvantage the Australian Government directed the State Governments to offer a grant for first homebuyers from their allocation of the Goods and Services Tax.

Basically, you will be eligible for the grant if you buy an existing house and:

  • You are an Australian Citizen or permanent resident buying a first home
  • You haven't received the grant before
  • The application is made within 12 months of settlement of the contract
  • You take up occupation of the house within 12 months of settlement of the contract
  • The price of the house does not exceed the current prescribed limit

C-Property Conveyancing will help you get the grant and arrange for the grant to be paid to your lender so it can be used to help pay for your home.

If you would like more information on the grant and how to get it please visit the Office of State Revenue's website for the first home owner's grant.

There is no fee payable by you to C-Property Conveyancing for this service. It's free, and just another way that C-Property Conveyancing gives you the complete conveyancing service.

Typically, conveyancing services leave you to deal with the confusing matter of the first homeowners grant, not C-Property Conveyancing.
